A constant, genial presence in local television, Dick spent 31 years as co-chief meteorologist with WCVB-TV, Boston from 1978 to his retirement in 2009. In 1987 he was voted second most popular weathercaster in the US by Television / Radio Age. During his career he received multiple regional Emmy’s, was recognized with the prestigious Silver Circle Award for Lifetime Achievement by the national Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2004. In addition to daily forecasting, Albert worked on children’s specials and the educational vehicle, “Albert’s Weather Wagon.” He did many special news series and stories, including features on the Blizzard of ’78 and the 1953 Worcester Tornado. Albert has” always passionate about the weather.”It’s not only my vocation, but my lifelong avocation.”
