Carl DeSuze

Carl DeSuze had a career that spanned six decades. There was a billboard on the Central Artery near Boston Garden that said, “As Carl DeSuze Riseth, so Doth Bothton.” It was true. Carl DeSuze had a career that spanned six decades, almost all of it as host of the #1 morning show in Boston from 1941 until 1980 on WBZ. The station frequency went from 990 to 1030, the format went from full-service MOR (middle-of-the-road) to Top 40 (W-Beatle-Z, the Boss Sound of Boss-Town) to Adult Contemporary during his tenure. Carl also was a world traveler and did travelogue shows about his adventures, such as “Southeast Asia..the Tiger We Ride” (this was prior to the Vietnam War).
