Pioneering sports announcer, known as “the Voice of Sports” in Boston. From 1939 to 1972, he covered sports on three radio stations and at least two television stations, radio (WNAC, WBZ, and WHDH), television (WBZ-TV and WNAC-TV) and in print (Boston Herald).
